A little bit of housekeeping on the injury front, in two parts today.

Part One: Sophomore tight end Dave Stinebaugh underwent shoulder surgery and, as expected, will miss the season.

“Everything went well,” coach Randy Edsall said. “He’s been back on campus for a couple days. He’s got a long rehab ahead of him. He’s out for the season. He’ll start the rehab process and healing process from that surgery.”

Stinebaugh started to emerge as a credible option in the passing game early last season, catching four passes for 42 yards in five games. He started in a victory against Duke, but shoulder and knee injuries cost him the final eight games of the season.

The Baltimore-area product missed nearly all of camp. Edsall said the day after Maryland’s opening victory against Miami that Stinebaugh would miss the season to correct the shoulder woes.
