Navy linebacker Matt Warrick was named the defensive player of the week among major-college independents.

The junior made 12 tackles and recovered a fumble in Navy’s 40-14 victory at Western Kentucky. He also had a pass breakup.

Warrick, who was making his fourth career start, is the third Midshipmen in two weeks to earn a weekly honor.
