PINEHURST, N.C. —- Maryland defensive tackle Zach Kerr was already ineligible. Now, he’s gone from the Terrapins’ program.
“Zach is no longer a member of our football team,” coach Randy Edsall said Monday at the ACC Kickoff.
SEE RELATED:Kerr had 21 tackles and a half-tackle for loss as a sophomore last year. He also worked on kickoff returns and as a goal-line fullback —- quite the look for a guy listed at 6-foot-2 and 320 pounds.
Edsall said last month Kerr would not be eligible for the 2011 season, but that his long-term status was unresolved at the time. Kerr is the 12th player with eligibility remaining to leave the program since Edsall was hired in January.
