Maryland defensive tackle Joe Vellano was named a second-team All-America pick by the Associated Press.

Vellano, a first-team all-ACC selection, had 94 tackles (7.5 for loss) in 12 games for the Terrapins. He also had 2.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries, one of which he returned for a touchdown.
