Without Navy in the mix this year, the Dec. 29 EagleBank Bowl at RFK Stadium could use a local team.
It’s just that none of the ACC locals/semi-locals are doing their part.
SEE RELATED:Virginia did have its first week all season without a loss. Of course, the Cavaliers didn’t play, which helped their cause.
Meanwhile, Maryland fell to 1-3 for the first time since 1997 after bumbling to a 34-13 loss to Rutgers. Which means Maryland needs a 5-3 ACC record, or it will be home for the holidays —- and off the EagleBank Bowl’s radar.
Anyway, here’s the full tie-in breakdown. As a reminder, the bowl gets the No. 8 pick from the ACC and either Army (if eligible) or a Conference USA East team (if Army is not eligible).
ACC No. 8
ACC teams with 2+ victories: 10
ACC teams with .500+ records: 10
Current projected teams on the board for the EagleBank Bowl: Boston College, Duke, Wake Forest
ARMY
The Black Knights fell back to 2-2 after getting blasted on the road against Iowa State. Next up: A two-game homestand starting with a visit from Tulane. The road to six wins is a lot harder without a victory over the Green Wave.

And then there’s Conference USA East, where there will probably be some options at season’s end:
Conference USA East teams with 2+ victories: 4 (Southern Mississippi, Marshall, Central Florida, East Carolina)
Conference USA East teams with .500+ records: 4
