WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. —- The point of the game, last I checked was to outscore the opposition.

Which usually means stopping the opposition at some stage.

Maryland is really struggling with that facet, yielding 213 yards on 22 plays in the first quarter en route to a 21-7 deficit.

The Terps, meanwhile, have run 9 plays for 13 yards through their first possession of the second quarter.

There’s been a Caleb Porzel sighting, but that only led to a loss of three yards. Outside of a Torrey Smith kickoff return, nothing has gone well for Maryland.

Especially the defense.
