Two Navy-related bits on a slow Friday morning …

* The Mids will play Troy in 2011 (in Annapolis) and 2012 (on the road).

It will be the first meeting between the schools, and only the third time Navy plays a member of the Sun Belt. The Mids won at North Texas 74-62 in 2007, and will play host to Western Kentucky this fall.

* While Navy and the Texas Bowl haven’t come out and confirmed things, it would appear Navy’s postseason date will be Dec. 30 at 8 p.m. on the NFL Network. At least, that’s what the NCAA says.

Of course, the NCAA says the EagleBank Bowl is a day later than it really is, so maybe that bowl date isn’t a sure thing.
