Ralph Friedgen got to open things at his Tuesday presser in his favorite.
Well, favorite way other than “Hello, everyone, good to see you all here.”
SEE RELATED:It was this short sentence: “We have no new injuries.”
So that puts Maryland in about as good a spot to be at in terms of injuries as it could hope to be at this stage. If you look at the two-deep from the start of camp —- which, including some “ors” on the depth chart amounts to 49 players —- and ignore the generally ignored H-back position, only four guys from that bunch are unavailable at this stage:
LB Rick Costa (suspension)
LB Ben Pooler (knee)
CB Kevin Barnes (shoulder)
CB Richard Taylor (knee)
That’s one anticipated starter, two key reserves and a guy who has yet to play but could be good down the road.
And after 10 games and a month of camp, that’s a pretty good place to find yourself in mid-November.
