Torrey Smith just brough a kickoff back 99 yards. A couple quick notes on that…

* Smith just set the ACC record for kickoff return yards with 1,089. The old record was held by Duke’s Tijan Redmon with 1,065 in 1995.

* Smith’s kickoff return was the first special teams score for Maryland since Josh Wilson returned a kickoff 100 yards on Oct. 7, 2006, at Georgia Tech.

* It was Maryland’s first non-offensive score since Erin Henderson’s interception return at Virginia on Oct. 14, 2006.
