ANNAPOLIS —- You know how Villanova had a so-called perfect game in the 1985 national title game?

Well, on a much smaller stage with a lot less meaning and in half as much time, I think I saw something pretty similar tonight here at Alumni Hall.

Anyway, Navy trailed by seven at halftime. Then the Mids shot. And shot. And shot. To the tune of 16-for-19, or 84.2 percent. That includes 5-for-6 from 3-point land.

Navy, by the way, won 78-65 and shot 71.4 percent for the game. The Mids were a meager 65.6 percent (21-for-32) at the foul line.

Kina, by the way, had 29 points and seven rebounds, which sort of makes the trip over here a little more worthwhile.

But it still isn’t quite as good as seeing a team shoot 84 percent for the last 20 minutes of a game.
