Maryland no longer has an H-back.

It’s an F-back. Or an F. But it’s not a fullback.

So with sophomore Drew Gloster academically ineligible, it might seem like the F (nee H) position might be de-emphasized. But Ralph Friedgen insisted yesterday that Lansford Watson, Devonte Campbell and Matt Furstenburg could all get time there.

As for the terminology mix-up, that’s one of the changes offensive coordinator James Franklin has introduced.

“We have three people there, but we could end up being more one tight end, two wide receivers, a tailback and a fullback,” Friedgen said. “Lansford’s kind of doubling as a Y with Tommy Galt and [Dan] Gronkowski and also what James calls the F position which I used to call the H position. You’ll get all confused with that, because he calls the H, R.”

And with that, we inch closer to the point where I don’t give a darn, which hopefully is not the new name for the Terps’ fullback.
