\ Like, is he concerned about suffering his third career concussion.\
SEE RELATED:\ “Third? I wish,” Steffy said with a rueful smile.\
\ Ruh-roh.\
\ Back to the original question: Even if he has been cleared to play Saturday against North Carolina —- and even if he did warm up on his own accord in the second half Saturday against Clemson —- there would logically be some worry about the consequences of another big hit.\
\ “It is something I thought about,” Steffy said. “My family is a little bit more worried than I am. It was something I had never experienced before on that level but now I think things are healing up and I’m feeling a lot better. The first couple weeks, I couldn’t even really focus on anything. Noise in my ear bothered me. Now I’m not [bothered]. I’m not concerned. If it happens, it happens. I’m not going to go out and play tentative. I’m going to go out and lay it all on the line.”\
\ Steffy said the effects of his November 2004 concussion at Virginia Tech was “just” a recurring headache. This time, there was a medley of sensitivity to noise, headaches and memory loss. Needless to say, being in a stadium of 47,000-plus screaming fans on Oct. 6 when the Terps played Georgia Tech did not make for a pleasant day.\
\ It also had an effect on day-to-day activities around campus.\
\ “It was just little things like one day a week and a half, two weeks after it happened, I started to go to class, it wasn’t like I was completely lost, but I forgot where was a class was,” Steffy said. “Just little things like that would happen. Nothing like that has happened recently.”\
\ And he no doubt hopes nothing like that ever happens again.\
