Although it may have been picked up by others, I just learned of the death on February 11 of Greg Coco, a long time licensed park guide at Gettysburg, as well as an author of some 16 books and numerous articles. One of his books, “A Strange and Blighted Land: The Aftermath of a Battle” was named number 12 in the top 50 Civil War books ever written. Greg enjoyed his job and was an excellent guide and conversationalist. A Vietnam War veteran, he received a number of medals and was interred at Evergreen Cemetery near where he worked for so long. He will be sorely missed by friends and tourists alike.
