The Nationals just announced three roster moves, none of which were terribly unexpected. They outrighted infielder Kory Casto and left-hander Mike O’Connor to Class AAA Syracuse and put right-hander Terrell Young on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation.
First, the two minor-leaguers: Again, neither move is unexpected, but it moves both players one step closer to the end of the line. Casto, in particular, was a highly-touted prospect in the organization at one time, but has fallen off because of injuries and struggles at the plate. O’Connor also has battled injuries, and couldn’t catch on as a reliever last year.
