GREENVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Greenville Parks and Recreation Director Corey Holmes is seeking donations to help spruce up the Bobby Henry Memorial Pool.

Holmes tells the Delta Democrat-Times (https://bit.ly/1g0u1eo ) they’re seeking help to paint the city-owned pool in an effort to attract more kids to the facility. The Parks and Recreation Commission estimates the job will require 68 gallons of a specialized blue paint that costs $47 per gallon.

Officials say they will take cash donations, but would prefer gallons of the paint, which can be purchased at Greenville Paint.

Meanwhile, Holmes says city employees have already drained the pool in hopes to have a few small repairs completed by the end of this week.

The pool will be open from June 2 through Aug. 15, from 1 p.m.-7 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
